About the brand

Rails was founded in 2008 by Los Angeles native Jeff Abrams, who drew inspiration from his travels across Europe to create a brand that fuses the effortless, casual style of Southern California with European design sensibilities. Starting with just a $5,000 investment and beginning with hats and hoodies, Abrams had no formal fashion background but possessed a keen aesthetic sensibility and business acumen that transformed his small startup into a global lifestyle brand. The brand's breakthrough came through fabric innovation, particularly the development of a proprietary Tencel-rayon blend that delivers a cashmere-like feel while maintaining the durability of everyday shirting. This signature fabric became the cornerstone of Rails' identity, creating pieces that feel as luxurious as they look. Today, Rails is beloved by celebrities including Beyoncé, Kendall Jenner, and Gisele Bündchen, and sells in over 30 countries worldwide, offering timeless, comfortable pieces across women's, men's, and children's collections.

What people are saying

The Quality Edit

Rails first drew me in with their perfectly relaxed, yet polished aesthetic that makes personal styling so effortless. Rails clothing has this way of feeling effortlessly cool but never trying too hard.

The Quality Edit

And Rails truly takes the cake when it comes to “what you see is what you get.” The quality and versatility of their clothing never ceases to amaze me. These are the kinds of pieces that you'll reach for again and again—styles that never lose their shine.

The Quality Edit

Sometimes with white clothing I'm terrified of the fabric being see-through, but don't worry, Rails has you covered here — literally.

I really like their button ups. Super comfortable and the price is super reasonable when they go on sale.

The Mom Edit

The black version below (the one I bought last summer) is a cotton/tencel blend and is incredibly versatile. The fabric has the tiniest bit of sheen, so throw on some heels (or your shiny Birks), grab a chic clutch, and you've got yourself a fancy-ish looking vibe.

I thought I wasn't a sweater dress fan, but after trying the Rails versions which have nice stretch, I changed my mind. I bought this black Lorraine sweater dress which is like butter and forgiving.. Felt amazing on.

Tellar

In general: Rails runs true to size in most items, with a slightly relaxed fit across shirts and knitwear. Fitted dresses and trousers may run small, particularly through the waist and bust.

The smaller sizes fit well, but IMO flannels should be a little oversized... They're a thinner material than flannels I've bought from other brands. It's one of my favorite shirts I own though.

Evereve

The fit is a little too big and the arms hang too low. For Rails brand and the price I should love this in order to keep it! I returned it even though I bought it on sale!

I'm very disappointed in the quality of this dress. At this price point I would expect better. It is very thin, and I had hesitations about keeping it.

They're fine, but their stuff tends to run short and it's expensive for the quality.

Their button ups lose fabric quality pretty quickly after a number of washes. They just get less crisp and look/feel worn. Which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if also their buttons didn't start to crumble when dried.
