About the brand

The Row is an American luxury fashion label founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006, emerging from Ashley's personal quest to create the perfect T-shirt. Named after London's prestigious Savile Row, the brand has redefined understated elegance in the fashion world through its commitment to impeccable craftsmanship and minimalist design philosophy. The Row eschews flashy logos and ostentatious displays, instead focusing on subtle luxury that whispers rather than shouts wealth. The brand has built its reputation on exceptional tailoring, refined silhouettes, and meticulous attention to high-quality materials. Offering ready-to-wear clothing, footwear, handbags, and accessories for both men and women, The Row embodies the concept of "quiet luxury" through its carefully curated neutral color palettes and timeless designs. The Olsens' enigmatic approach to fashion, rarely granting interviews and letting their creations speak for themselves, has only heightened the brand's mystique and appeal among discerning fashion enthusiasts worldwide.

What people are saying

91 LANE

What drove me to purchasing The Row was simply my need for better quality clothes. Even when capable, I had always strayed from buying designer because I was never a big fan of logos.

I reach for the flat version almost every day during warmer months — they're sturdy, comfortable, and well made. The strap is slightly angled down in the flat version, it's very subtle but it makes the whole shoe.

...and the leather smelled so fresh like it had just come back from the tannery. and that's something I mentioned in my review it was just. like there were feathers there was cashmere uh everything was really buttery soft. and silky and and then I knew I was not going to be able to afford a lot of it. because the material was substantial.

They're not fussy, they're comfortable and classic, and the cut and cloth tell a compelling story. At this point, it's obvious to everyone in the industry that The Row cares not what's going on to the left or right of them; they're only competing with themselves.

I have a few of their handbags and honestly, in a luxury world where the quality of some designer handbag brands are declining sharply, it's refreshing to have a brand that prides itself mainly on quality.

The appeal of The Row lies in its fusion of effortless elegance and practicality. From the meticulous selection of high-quality fabrics to the sharp and clean-cut silhouettes, as well as the delicate and refined details, every aspect is never taken lightly.

I never know if I should size up or down and the row sizing is not consistent.

Their designs are super basic/minimalist and sometimes weird and not for everyone but it felt how I wanted super expensive leather to feel (although I do think it's overpriced).

I think the row's production has just gone to this massive scale that we're seeing so much more on resale sites that every time I see something I love and it's sold out I don't worry. i miss the days of being worried because those pieces were far more special

But the price point of this bag defies all justification. The Margaux 15, in my opinion should be sold for at least a thousand dollars less.

I thought the smooth black leather felt very luxurious, but was afraid of getting it scratched; but the grained leather felt very cheap to touch... The Row's grained leather that is used for the Margaux specifically, almost has a spongy feel to it.

The Row uses split leather for this particular bag. Split leather has been separated from the grain, and without the tight fiber structure of the grain leather it's much less resilient, can tear more easily, and will require more maintenance.
