About the brand

Brunello Cucinelli is an Italian luxury fashion brand founded in 1978 by its namesake designer in the picturesque hamlet of Solomeo, Italy. The company began with a revolutionary concept of creating brightly colored cashmere sweaters for women, which was unusual at the time. Headquartered in a restored 14th-century castle, the brand has become synonymous with exceptional Italian craftsmanship and artisanal quality, maintaining its "Made in Italy" ethos throughout its global expansion. What truly distinguishes Brunello Cucinelli is its commitment to "humanistic capitalism," combining luxury fashion with strong ethical principles. The company is renowned for its respectful treatment of employees, including fair wages, reasonable working hours, and dignified working conditions. Today, the brand offers high-quality cashmere, ready-to-wear collections, and accessories, serving discerning customers across Europe, North and South America, and East Asia while maintaining its dedication to sustainable luxury and social responsibility.

By continuing to care for loyal customers and choosing not to host extravagant shows, focusing on doing fewer things but doing them well, Cucinelli found the sense of security that other luxury brands are now striving to achieve. A strategy that, in the words of the company's founder, aligns with the concept of “true luxury”: exclusivity and impeccable craftsmanship.

Brunello Cucinelli. Period. He only uses cashmere of the Changthangi goat which are the rarest goats in the world found between the Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges at 15,000feet and the temperature goes as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius which gives these goats the very softest coat of all sheep on earth.

Brunello Cucinelli – This is certainly not my favorite because I can afford any of it outside of an outlet. I respect what Brunello has built while emphasizing both beauty and ethics at the same time. Paying workers more than the average, creating a wonderful setting in which to do their work, and shutting down servers at 5:30 p.m. to force work/life balance is a beautiful practice. There is a spiritual aspect to the brand that speaks to me.

I recently purchased a pair of Brunello Cucinelli shoes and noticed a visible stitching irregularity—basically, the stitches weren't seated properly in the channel. When I raised it with their customer service, the response I received was that this wasn't a defect but a “reflection of artisanal craftsmanship.” On one hand, I understand that handmade items will never be 100% uniform. On the other hand, at this price point I would expect perfection in visible details, especially when other luxury makers I've dealt with (who also use hand-finishing) have addressed similar issues promptly.

Buying from BC may get you a certain look or feel that combines well with the overall BC ascetic but it will generally not get you a shoe comparable to the ones at that price range made by actual high end shoemakers.

Looks fine. You pay 1000$ just for the BC label, the rest is a $500 shoe. So this is totally within the quality level of a $500 shoe.
