About the brand

GIGI C is a luxury swimwear brand founded in 2017 by then-16-year-old Gigi Caruso and her mother Tina, a former swimsuit model and clothing designer. Born and raised in Southern California, Gigi grew up as an avid boater, wakeboarder, snorkeler, and swimmer who struggled to find swimwear that could withstand her active lifestyle while maintaining style. Unable to find pieces that were both fashionable and functional, she decided to create her own solution by deconstructing and refashioning existing swimsuits. The brand is built on the belief that a great swimsuit should enhance your style—never inhibit it. GIGI C has become known for its signature laser cutting, silky scuba swim fabric, clean lines, and architectural shapes that embody the concept of "functional meets chic." The brand has since expanded beyond swimwear to include activewear and resortwear, maintaining its core philosophy of creating pieces that support an active lifestyle without compromising on style or sophistication.

If you're active check out Surf Suits. This one is from Gigi C, I love that it zips up so you don't have to worry about it falling off when you're doing water sports, and it's long sleeve/high neck so you also don't need to use as much sunscreen!

Last summer, I tried the Riley Surfsuit for paddleboarding, and I was really impressed! The laser-cut pattern not only looks stylish but also allows for better movement while on the water. The coverage is excellent; I didn't have to worry too much about sunscreen, which is a huge plus for long days outdoors.

For a company that makes surf suits, this one is unfortunately not built to last. I've worn this suit twice in the water for under an hour each time, & the seams are already coming out in multiple spots... It's also totally see-through when wet. This is NOT worth the high price tag; it really shouldn't even considered designer swimwear.
