About the brand

Canada Goose is a premium Canadian outerwear brand founded in 1957 by Polish immigrant Sam Tick as Metro Sportswear Ltd in Toronto. Originally creating wool vests, raincoats, and snowsuits for harsh Canadian winters, the company evolved under David Reiss's leadership in the 1970s with innovative down-filling technology. The brand gained recognition supplying parkas to police, rangers, and scientists working in extreme conditions, including Antarctica. Renamed Canada Goose in 2000 under third-generation CEO Dani Reiss, it transformed from a utilitarian manufacturer into a globally recognized luxury brand while maintaining its commitment to functionality over fashion. Known for their technical approach to warmth and protection, Canada Goose products feature high-quality Canadian-made construction using premium materials like down filling and coyote fur trim. The brand's philosophy centers on "freeing people from the cold" through innovative, durable outerwear that performs in the world's harshest environments while offering understated styling.

I love how warm it is even though it's cropped. It kept my whole upper body warm and toasty in freezing conditions thanks to the high-quality materials.

We've tested upwards of 20 warm winter coats, but this option from Canada Goose took the winning spot. Why? It's super stylish, has a versatile fit, and, most importantly, it keeps us super warm in freezing weather.

For a super warm puffer/parka style jacket, this coat is super stylish... We also like this coat because it doesn't make us feel like the Michelin Man (ha!), but still has ample room for layering underneath.

The brand makes warm parkas that are investment-worthy for a reason. After testing out quite a few best-selling models from the brand, we found that the Expedition Parka is its most versatile style that is equally great for everyday living as well as outdoor adventure.

PureWow

With water-repellent and wind-resistant capabilities, this Pima cotton downproof coat had a lot of hype surrounding it, but after wearing it nearly every day in London for the past month and a half, I can wholeheartedly say it lives up to the chatter... All this to say, this is the warmest cropped puffer coat I've ever worn in my life.

Yeah, I've realised that too, jackets didn't feel as premium as they used to back then, I always off marketplaces personally, older models from 2018-2021 are the best in my opinion. It's honestly sad to see Canada goose removing such detail whilst raising the price.

I think the quality must have gone down significantly this year in 2024. I saw posts from 2022 reassuring that the quality on the work coats was still good. This gave me confidence to buy a 2024 snow mantra...The package weighed only 2.1LBS/0.95KG with garment bag and hanger. I ended up buying a 2011 pre-owned mantra...and that package was 4KG!. Over 4x difference in weight...I really question the quality of even the work coats now to withstand -30C temperatures.

I spent £120 to have my coat dry cleaned so that it could be sent into Canada Goose to repair the little wear and tear cuts on the coat...The staff at Canada Goose Oxford Street assured me that the repairs would be covered under the warranty...I'm pretty surprised by this reply. Doesn't sound like Canada Goose stand by their products at all!

Between the insane price hikes year after year, the plunging quality — like jackets literally being stained by rain — and the legalistic bullshit they use to get out of any warranty support, I've had enough. I'll love my old chilliwak bomber for as long as it lasts but will not be doing any more business with this sorry excuse for a company.

What is going on with Canada Goose? Well, the price increase has become ridicilous now this year. And the fur has been removed...they also discontinue so many useful and nice styles (Brookvale, Forester, Maitland etc) and bring out literally only yellow/pink/ uglycollaboration trash bag jackets. Also the focus on products for fall stuff, bad quality ugly shoes, useless accessories?

I decided to splurge on a coat this year and went straight to Canada Goose for its legnth and warmth. I was offended by how underwhelming they were. They weren't that warm, felt plastic-y and didn't have the little extras that other brands did, like lining lol. I think they're 100% taking advantage of their brand name at this point, at least at the department store level.

When it comes to a brand as esteemed as Canada Goose, the quality of the product and the customer service experience has been downright terrible and honestly appalling. I had to send my jacket back within the first 40 days because the sleeve lost its elasticity... within three months, the seams began to unravel, so I sent it back again for repairs.
