About the brand

COUCOU is a sustainable lingerie brand founded by Rose Colcord that bridges the gap between sexy lingerie and everyday underwear. The female-owned label, with pieces designed and made in England, was born from the realization that women shouldn't have to choose between feeling comfortable and feeling beautiful in their daily underwear choices. The brand focuses on creating elevated daily lingerie using certified organic cotton and French lace, offering pieces that can be composted at the end of their lifecycle. COUCOU's philosophy centers on empowering women to feel confident and comfortable every day, not just on special occasions. With a strong community-focused approach and transparent values, the brand has built a dedicated following through authentic storytelling and a commitment to conscious consumption, challenging the traditional narratives of the underwear industry.

clothing-wise, i feel like cou cou intimates really nails their mission. all of the pieces i own are basic enough to wear every day, but unique enough that they feel special and pretty.

cou cou is truly great at curating their ~effortlessly beautiful~ vibe—it's female-gaze-sexy, aspirational yet attainable-feeling. their creative director's airtight vision has paid off, at least in my book!

Cou Cou makes pieces you don't want to take off, because they breathe and stretch and accentuate your curves; they look like the lingerie you'd pull out for a special evening but feel like something you wouldn't immediately discard once playtime is over.

Sitting low on the waist and hitting below my ankles—I'm five-eight, so that's always a triumph—they're cozy and, equally important, they make my butt look good.

The Quality Edit

A quality cotton piece is never left behind in my online shopping cart, and though I often find that cotton styles sacrifice comfort, Cou Cou easily strikes the perfect balance.

I have a coucou intimates dress and I can say that it's comfortable for everyday wear. I wash it with the rest of my clothes and it holds up just fine.

the trim on the pointelle fabric doesn't exactly dig in, but you can feel it—i wouldn't wear it on a hike or something, lol. the cotton jersey fabric is a little better, but you still won't forget you're wearing it.

Both are trustworthy! CouCou is probably higher quality (as reflected in prices). I think the websites show their diff styles—Chouchou as fun & Coucou as clean.

their return process means that your first purchase from this brand is a risk, which is never a good feeling! based on that, i don't 100% recommend it. their sizing is inconsistent enough that i feel like this would affect a lot of people.

The Quality Edit

Cou Cou Intimates has some seriously cute and comfortable options, but for mid-size women—especially those with bigger busts—sizing can be a bit of a gamble.

they're a knock off of the brand pretties venice . pretties venice makes their garments by hand, and owning both i have to say cou cou doesn't compare. it's cotton, but something about pretties can't be replicated.
